Beach volleyball in California is one of the best known and most popular sports on the west coast of the USA. The beaches of Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach and Huntington Beach are world famous for their beach volleyball courts and attract both amateur and professional players. California also hosts several major beach volleyball tournaments, including the AVP Championships and the Manhattan Beach Open. The sport has a long tradition in California and is considered by many to be a lifestyle sport.
